Dr. Allen C. Ho, MD FACS, is a distinguished retina specialist renowned for his expertise in medical and surgical retinal diseases. He serves as Attending Surgeon and Director of Retina Research at Wills Eye Hospital and is Co-Director of the Wills Eye Retina Service in Philadelphia. He is Professor of Ophthalmology at Thomas Jefferson University

He maintains special interests in macular diseases, diabetic retinopathy, surgical retinal diseases and translational clinical trials investigating new treatments for vitreoretinal diseases including gene and cell therapies and new surgical drug delivery devices and new surgical techniques.  He has played a pivotal role in advancing treatments, retinal disease education and patient access to therapies for these conditions through his leadership and involvement in over 100 clinical trials and a broad array of scientific advisory boards.

Recognized for his contributions to the field, Dr. Ho has authored more than 350 peer-reviewed publications and serves as Editor-in-Chief of Current Opinion in Ophthalmology and Chief Medical Editor of Retina Today. His academic and scientific experience extends to roles such as leadership of the Eyecelerator innovation meeting, AAO IRIS Registry and Innovation Committees, Past President and Executive Committee of The Retina Society and participation on the U.S. FDA Ophthalmic Device Panel
